chutney and cakes at West Down B&B Guest House Barnstaple
Brenda has been keeping herself busy while waiting for the reopening on 6th. September.
Always eager to try new and exciting dishes Brenda came across an interesting recipe for runner bean chutney and decided to give it a try. As you might expect at this time of year, there was a good supply of runner beans from Roger’s kitchen garden and he was also able to supply some choice onions required by the recipe. As you can see from the images below the process of preparing the beans and onions was completed and the resulting chutney placed in jars ready for the arrival of guests following the Covid reopening.
Those of you with a sweet tooth were not forgotten!! Brenda also made use of the eggs from West Down’s own hens to bake a range of sponges, cup cakes and crumbles using fruit from the garden. Please see the menus page for more examples of Brenda’s amazing AA award winning meals.

We look forward to welcoming you to West Down B&B Guest House Barnstaple in the near future.
