As a guest house we are very proud of continually being awarded the AA Highly Commended and AA Dinner Award. We are passionate about the food that we serve and being able to use seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs from our own gardens. These are used fresh when in season or directly from our freezers out of season.
The Devon and Exmoor area has an abundant range of quality farms and we strive to use trusted local North Devon suppliers for fresh game, poultry, beef, pork and fish fresh from the Cornish and Devon coasts.
An aperitif of your choice is served in the lounge before dinner. Wine is served with your meal and is included in the price of dinner. Our sweet trolley is made up of 3 or 4 sweets made by us at West Down Guest House. All are served with Devon clotted cream – but it is not compulsory!! Coffee and mints are served in the lounge in front of the roaring log fire in the colder evenings. This makes for a perfect end to a perfect day in ‘glorious’, but relaxing, North Devon.
As an award wining guest house we are very experienced in catering for special diets. We are happy to discuss your requirements when you make your booking to ensure that we are fully aware of your needs to so that you have the most perfect stay with us at West Down Guest House.
