Accommodation

All of our guest house rooms are en-suite with modern fitted bathrooms. Each of the spacious rooms has its own special unique design for your comfort.

Our guest rooms are full of Devon character, such as original beams and country pine furniture. All of the bedrooms benefit from fabulous views over rolling North Devon countryside, giving an air of relaxation and tranquillity.

Our many repeat guests compliment us on the comfort and ‘home from home’ feeling of our guest house accommodation, and specifically request their favourite bedroom. All guest rooms are equipped with TV, hospitality tray, hair dryer and iron. We have added many little extras to make your stay a memorable one.

En-suite facilities include a shower in Arlington, Marwood and Swallow, and a bath (with shower over) in Woodpecker. We have rooms specially adapted for disabled guests - these are suitable for wheelchair users or those with restricted mobility, and are directly accessible from the car park. One (Swallow) has a walk-in en-suite wet room.

Arlington

This guest bedroom takes its name from the nearby National Trust Arlington Court stately home outside Barnstaple. It is a large en-suite (with shower) bedroom with King size pine bed. It also has a single bed should the room be required as a twin bedroom. There are two high back chairs to relax in and it is furnished with traditional country pine units.

The room is light and airy having dual aspect windows with a view of the gorgeous large cottage garden that sweeps down through the valley and out over the Devon hills. There are many original features such as ceiling beams to make this truly a bedroom in which to unwind and relax.

Marwood

This guest bedroom takes its name from Marwood Hill Gardens situated close to Barnstaple, which hosts the NCCP National Collections of Astilbes, Tulbaghia and Japanese Iris. This is a spacious King size bedded en-suite (with shower) room. The King sized bed can be converted to two twin beds if required. It has two Parker Knoll chairs to unwind in after a day sight-seeing in North Devon.

The picture window offers wonderful panoramic views over the garden and grounds of West Down, and further over the rolling Devon hills. This bedroom is tastefully furnished with country pine and small touches to create a warm ambiance in which to relax.

Swallow

The Swallow guest bedroom is a wheelchair accessible room with ramp access directly from the car park which is outside the door. The en-suite is a spacious wet room consisting of shower with moveable stool for use at the sink and frame over toilet. This makes it ideal for guests in wheelchairs or those with limited mobility.

The bedroom is well furnished with twin beds which can be converted to a large double on request. It has a remote controlled TV and DVD unit, tea and coffee facilities and many more extras for your comfort.

Views from the room extend over the car park to the cottage garden and beyond to rolling Devon countryside.

Woodpecker

The Woodpecker is a family guest bedroom with ramp access directly from the car park which is outside the door. It is suitable for those with restricted mobility but is not wheelchair accessible into the room itself. This spacious bedroom consists of a large King size bed and an interconnecting door to a smaller room with a bed which can be made into a twin or double, making the bedroom ideal for families.

There is separate independent access from both bedrooms to the en-suite which has a bath with shower attachment over. The main bedroom has a remote controlled TV and DVD unit, tea and coffee facilities and many more extras for your comfort. Views from the room extend over the car park to the cottage garden, and beyond to the rolling Devon countryside.
