CONTINUATION OF AA 4 Stars Award - 2007
With a continuation of The AA 4 Stars following the Visit in 2007 which shows good quality ensuite Accomodation. Furthermore Brenda & Roger were also awarded the one of the Highest accolades of the AA Dinner Award only given to the best establishments. See notes below for the high rating standards.

AA Landlady of the Year 2006 - We heard in November:
Brenda has been nominated by the AA Inspector for National prestigious award of Landlady of the year. This follows 4,000 entrants.

WE HAVE AA 4 STARS AWARD FOR FARMHOUSE GUEST ACCOMMODATION FOR 2007-2008 - Stars are awarded for the high quality within each Star level for all aspects of Guest accommodation.

For 2007 - The Visit Sumary following the AA Man’s Inspection - “In terms of the new AA Quality Standards for Guest Accommodation, West Down has achieved a Four star grading with a recommended Farmhouse Designator; continuation of the Dinner Award will also be reccommended. Housekeeping standards were very goo throughout, with no lapses noted. First impressions are posistive with the gardens being well tended and their being ample car parking space. Physically the property is very well mantained, both externally and internally. It was encouraging to see such high standards of maintenance throughout the property. We look forward to returning in the future and wish you continued success”...

NOTE - Explanation on ratings: The Stars Bed & Breakfast accommodation assessed by the AA before January 2006 was graded using a Star rating. Establishments were awarded one Star at the simplest level up to five Stars at the luxury end, based on an assessment of cleanliness, service, bedroom comfort, bathroom facilities and the standard of food.. You can expect to find the following minimum standards at all Star levels: Friendly, professional check in and check out, with a properly prepared bill. Comfortable rooms equipped to modern standards. Furniture and soft furnishings in good condition. Bedding and towels changed for each new guest and at least weekly if the room is taken for a long stay. Adequate storage, heating, lighting and a sufficient hot water supply. Full, cooked breakfast, but if this is not provided, the fact must be advertised and a continental breakfast given instead.
